Images ‘From Atoms to Patterns’ Exhibition

I LOVE old school crystallography. I am guessing this is because I have never done it ![]()
Images with film. Hand drawing electron density. Structures with wires. Hardcore.
I just came across this exhibition entitled “From Atoms to Patterns“.
You know of any other old school tributes?

I’ve done film, even on a Weissenberg camera.
But only to evaluate crystal quality and perhaps determine unitcells. We only had a automated point-diffractometer when I did my b.sc., so it wasn’t actually a bad use of time to check the crystals first.

I spent some time (a summer) in Alex Rich’s lab working on some projects with a post-doc friend and it was cool to see the old light table and other things (models, film, acetate slides, etc) just lying around for me to drool / play with.

Hi Hector. Welcome to P212121!
Thanks for sharing, been getting a lot of tips of locations to sleep at other beam lines:
@ankitgpta My experience to get a sleep at CHESS is the couch in the kitchen near the coffee machine.
